Pestex, London, UK

As always the technical presentations and panel sessions at Pestex were of superior quality and registered high attendance rates. A standout among the panel discussions was a debate with Julie Girling (MEP), Malcolm Harbour (former MEP and policy advisor at the European Policy InlineCentre) and Oliver Bretz (European law expert). The speakers focused on the role of associations in a Britain that soon will no longer be a part of the EU. All of them agreed that remaining a member of a European Association would probably be key to allow industries and trades to remain in touch with Brussels and make sure that the UK can still achieve conformity with the evolution of regulatory frameworks designed for the single market.
